The Most Important Step in Organizing
You can organize your home all day long, the same spaces over and over, and still not feel like it made a difference. But the most important step in organizing is the one that’s often missed…label everything!
Missing this one crucial step is the difference between your family members knowing where to find and put things away…or not. And I encourage you to take it one step further. Include them in the organizing decisions and I guarantee they will be more willing to help with the upkeep in the future!

There are SO many labeling options out there – so let me share with you the ones we use day in and day out as we organize:
Editable Labels
Different materials have different options. My favs are:
Chalkboard labels – I buy it on a roll and cut how I want and use these chalk pens
Using a dry erase marker on plastic – I buy these ones
Using an oil-based paint pen on plastic or glass – I buy these ones
Pre-Printed Sticker Labels
It’s as easy as peel + stick, and works well on most surfaces that aren’t fabric. My favs are:
Custom Vinyl Labels
In all of our in-home organizes, we include semi-permanent vinyl labels that are waterproof, and stand the test of time.
