Primary Bath Vanity Reveal

A primary bath should feel like an oasis; but more often than not, it can feel like a complete disaster! Especially behind closed doors in your vanity. So much product. Constant toiletries in and out. Without a plan and a system, it can be so difficult to keep your space feeling zen.

Here’s where this primary bath vanity started. A few random containers but not a clear process to keep things in place.

This client wanted drawers that easily opened and closed, but had a fairly tight budget. So I found these great clear drawers at Amazon for a good price that fit our space. They also have these taller drawers to fit product but we didn’t have enough height for that.

With hair products, I like to use open bins that can very easily just be pulled out only when needed. So another great find on Amazon with these clear open bins. They even offer this bin with compartments – right?! Speaking my love language.

So to begin organizing any space, I start with a complete clean out. This part doesn’t have to be painful, it can be fun. Have a laugh at some of the things you find that you forgot you even had. I mean, how many nail files did I actually get as gifts between the age of 12 and 20!!

Then we add the empty containers and make sure they fit. My open bin fits perfectly in place on top of one of my sets of drawers. That’s a win.

So now the fun part – organizing!! I know, you’re probably thinking that you’d rather clip your toe nails than do this part. But stick with me…think of it as a puzzle that you get to put together. You find how all of the pieces fit in the right spots. It’s strangely satisfying. Trial + error my friends.

We ended up with a beauty + products section on the bigger side of the vanity. As I began to put the pieces together I realized I wanted 2 open bins for product at the top and one less drawer. Lucky for me, I always over buy {thank you Amazon Prime free shipping/returns} so I had extras of each on hand already. I labeled with this label maker.

Inside a couple of the drawers I needed to be able to keep smaller items contained, so I used some of these mini bins I keep on hand.

On to the small side of the vanity. I decided to make this the nail salon portion of the bathroom. After throwing out the ones that were dried up, we were able to fit everything into two of the drawers. But first, here was the before.

Yes…the nail polish grab bag. I’ve had many of those through the years. You dump to find your color. Not the most functional solution. And now, for the reveal.

The perfectionist in me hates that the blue one is facing the wrong way. The normal side of me says to get over it. Sigh. Wanna see what those bins look like inside?

The cool thing about this is that now you know how much space you have…so you can stop buying more polish until one of yours is dunzo, right?!

This kinda stuff is great to keep around {in very small quantities} for the little girls in your home. There’s nothing like an at-home spa day.

What now?!

So that’s a wrap on the latest primary bath vanity reveal!! I hope you feel inspired to take a crack at your own bathroom. If you love the pictures but it’s all feeling overwhelming, contact me and I would love to step in and help you make your bathroom an oasis.
