Coastal Chic Organize Tour
Your kitchen is one space that is used every single day by every person who lives with you. And did you know...Americans spend more than 400 hours per year in the kitchen* So, in turn, it tends to be one of the messiest spots in a home if there aren't clear systems in place.
When I met with this client for a consultation, she told me her style was coastal…and boy do I love the beach. So I thought, let's bring the beach into their everyday!
When I arrive for the in-home consultation, I always tell you to leave everything "as is" - because it's helpful for me to see what isn't working, and ask questions to figure out systems that WILL work.
Then I do everything from measuring each nook and cranny, and take pictures so I can create a blueprint of your space and put together a full plan with product recommendations before we ever schedule organizing day(s).
Some challenges we needed to overcome in this space were:
Being smart about what can be low in the pantry so their toddler doesn't rip it all down.
Creating storage that allows them space as their child(ren) have more food items in the future.
Considering thoughtfully what needs to live in the pantry vs. the kitchen and making sure to consider ease of use.

THE PANTRY
So we created 3 different sections:
Everyday Food + Snacks
Baking
Guest Items, Pet & Paper Goods
The Little Details
THE KITCHEN
They were struggling to find everything they needed each day because there were items in multiple places. We reviewed the entire kitchen and made a recommendation for each space that makes sense for ease of use. Here's where we landed:
A few simple updates can make all the difference. Risers are awesome to take better advantage of vertical space, and water bottle/tumbler organizers are a must for me in every kitchen organize.
Once we moved all like items together, suddenly this cabinet is much more manageable (and pretty!)
I mean...come on!!! Bringing the coastal vibe into the kitchen. If that doesn't make you smile, I don't know what will. These are their everyday spices, and then we made a space in the pantry for overstock and less used spices.
My #1 tip for tupperware is to keep the lids with the matching base ALWAYS. We love using these specific bins because they are on wheels for easy access, and include dividers so you can separate each different set to keep it all straight.
They were struggling with this drawer because the bamboo organizer + the silverware was too heavy. Transitioning to plastic organizers helps the weight issue and allows you to use the entire drawer space to organize.
If you have appliances you don't ever use...it's time to get them off your counters! This tall storage space allows all of their sous vides + the accessories to live together (behind a cabinet).
Again, we love to use the wasted vertical space better by adding shelf risers that match the shelving.
Shelf risers make glass baking dishes more accessible - but don't forget about the lids! We like to make those easy to grab n go.
The inside of cabinet doors are full of potential!
We rearranged drawer space - and got all of the utensils off of the counter and categorized into these two drawers.
Nothing's sliding all around anymore! I'm convinced that containment is the key to happiness.
